Creagh are Racing Ahead

Creagh Concrete is delighted to have been involved in the new state of the art Killanin Stand at Galway Race Course. Officially opened by An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, The Killanin Stand accommodates over 7,000 people with seating for 700 on the first floor balcony.

As precast manufacturing specialists Creagh Concrete were responsible for the manufacture and installation of the substantial amount of precast concrete elements on the project including, a stand terrace (2000 person capacity); a seated terrace (700 person capacity), a 1st floor cantilevered walkway with a profiled soffit, 2nd & 3rd floor cantilevered balconies with profiled soffit and precast stairs.

The total cost of the Killanin Stand erection was €22 million with the precast supplied by Creagh Concrete totalling £350,000. The stand was completed in a record time of 44 weeks by building contractors Michael McNamara & Co. The creation of this stand with its top notch facilities will rank Galway as on of the best race courses in Europe.
