Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport has undergone a £1 billion redevelopment.

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme

This included the construction of the Terminal 2 extension, three new finger piers and a 3,800-space multi-storey car park which opened in April 2019. The 9-storey carpark was built to replace the spaces lost to the Terminal 2 extension and expansion of the airfield.

Creagh supplied the flooring for the car park in the form of 400mm deep hollowcore planks (weighing 9.5 tonnes each), despatched over 1500 loads. The hollowcore covers approximately 80,000m².

The hollowcore slabs were installed on a structural frame which consists of structural concrete columns and delta beam spanning 15.6m in width.  The frame was installed by 6 tower cranes working simultaneously erecting 6 different phases to construct the one car park.
