Cowes Enterprise College

Cowes Enterprise College is a remarkable £32 million building offering many benefits to the local community.

The building was designed with sustainability in mind. The roof has large sections of glass to optimise natural daylight and also has a living green roof and a biomass plant which provides energy efficient heating.

Cowes Enterprise College enlisted Creagh concrete to assist with the sustainability rating of the building. Concrete’s inherent properties are ideally suited to the education sector, its reputation for durability offers important savings in repair and maintenance with the school environment. Further whole of life savings can be attributed to concrete’s thermal mass which is acknowledged to be a value solution to the problem of overheating, and it’s associated cooling costs.

Creagh supplied and fitted concrete cross wall panels, columns, beams and hollowcore flooring for the new education building.
